Two yards

Portland. Salem. The I-5 corridor between them.

Cascade operates out of two Oregon yards: the founding Portland yard in Northwest Portland, opened with the firm in 2003, and the Salem satellite yard, opened in 2018 to support our work in the mid-Willamette Valley. Crews work out of whichever yard is closer to the job, and senior foremen rotate between yards weekly so that knowledge of every project is shared across both locations.

The two yards stock different specialty materials. Portland holds the cedar shake inventory and most of the slate; Salem holds the standing-seam metal coil stock. Both yards hold asphalt shingle, underlayment, fasteners, and the basic flashing materials. Special-order materials (Buckingham slate, premium Kynar finishes, specific copper gauges) are ordered project-by-project from the yard closest to the job.

2418 NW Wilson Street, Portland, OR 97210

The founding Portland yard occupies an 11,800-square-foot fenced lot on NW Wilson Street between 24th and 25th, in the industrial pocket between Slabtown and the Forest Park trailhead. The lot includes the main shop building (cedar-clad, single story, 3,200 sqft, with the firm’s small front office), a covered material-storage shed (5,400 sqft, where cedar shake and slate are stored on pallets), the fastener and underlayment shed, and the fenced equipment yard where the firm’s eight box trucks and two flatbed material trucks are kept overnight.

The Portland yard is the firm’s home. Henrik works out of here when he is in the office; Astrid works out of here three days a week. Most customer site visits are scheduled out of Portland because most of our residential and commercial work is in the Portland metro.

Driving directions. From I-405 northbound, exit at Vaughn Street (Exit 3), turn left on Vaughn, right on NW 25th Avenue, left on NW Wilson Street — the yard entrance is on your right, marked with a small slate-gray Cascade sign. Visitor parking is on the street; please do not block the truck-bay access on the east side of the building.

Salem yard.

1147 22nd Street SE, Salem, OR 97302

(503) 555-0247

The Salem yard opened in 2018 to support our growing work in McMinnville, Salem, Albany, and Eugene. It is an 8,400-square-foot lot on 22nd Street SE, in the light-industrial pocket between the Salem Airport and the I-5 freeway. The lot includes a smaller cedar-clad shop building (2,100 sqft, with a small office for the yard manager and the two estimators who work out of Salem), a covered storage shed (3,200 sqft, where standing-seam metal coil and asphalt shingle are stored), and a fenced equipment yard for the southern half of the Cascade fleet.

The Salem yard exists so that our crews can be on a job site in McMinnville, Salem, Albany, or Eugene by seven o’clock in the morning without driving down from Portland. Standing-seam metal is stocked at Salem because most of our standing-seam work happens in the mid-Valley and the Bend / Hood River corridor — closer to Salem than to Portland by twenty miles.

Driving directions. From I-5 southbound, take Exit 256 (Mission Street), turn right on Mission, left on 22nd Street SE — the yard entrance is on your left after the curve, marked with the slate-gray Cascade sign. Visitor parking is in the small gravel lot adjacent to the office.

Visitors welcome. Call ahead.

The yards are working spaces, not showrooms — call before stopping by, and we’ll have someone meet you to walk through material samples in the shop.
